Agreement to settle royalty rates for online Music revealed
An agreement on how to pay off music creators for online distribution of their content has reached by record labels, music publishers, songwriters and online music services.
On Wednesday agreement stating how the industry computes royalty rates for limited download and music that is flowed online is revealed. It also suggest that when music is provided by subscription and advertising-supported services.
Providers of such services will pay a royalty of 10.5 percent of proceeds after other royalties are calculated according to the proposal.
The online statement by Digital Media Association describes the agreement and is a step forward that would make new ways possible to offer music to online consumers.
Fans using on-demand music streaming do not keep a permanent copy however can select the songs they want to hear.
